How to add external pages like privacy policy, terms & conditions to the classified app

You can add any number of external pages onto the app, like the Privacy Policy, Terms and conditions, FAQ, About Us etc. For the Google and Apple app submission especially adding Privacy Policy and Terms and condition is very important, otherwise your app might be rejected. Here is how you can add these pages.

Adding a Terms and Condition page

Classified mobile app shows a terms and condition link on the registration page. This is mandatory to the users to accept the terms and condition to enable them to register. Without a terms and condition acceptance feature your app might be rejected.

To add this page login to yourwebiste.com/oc-admin
From the left menu, click on Pages.

Click on the + icon or Add New button. Enter a title based on your language and for the Internal name enter “terms-and-conditions”.

Enter your terms and condition text and click save. Once you are done with this the page will be shown on the app.
Important: If your app uses different languages, you have to enter text for all of the languages. If you don’t have this ready for other language yet please enter English text to all other languages. See the language tabs on the top right corner. Internal name should be same for all languages.

Adding a Privacy Policy page:

You will need to add a privacy policy page to your website and app. If you do not add the privacy policy page your app may be rejected. Google sends this email if you do not have the privacy policy:
“Google Play requires developers to provide a valid privacy policy when the app requests or handles sensitive user or device information. We’ve identified that your app collects and transmits the Android advertising identifier, which is subject to a privacy policy requirement. If your app collects the Android advertising ID, you must provide a valid privacy policy in both the designated field in the Play Console, and from within the app.”

Here is the steps you can follow to add a privacy policy page easily.

Login to yourwebiste.com/oc-admin
From the left menu, click on Pages

You will create 2 privacy policy pages separately, one for the website and another for the mobile app. This is because the privacy policy is different for the website and app.

Click on the + icon to add a new page. Enter the title “Privacy Policy” or any other title. You will also have the option to add Privacy Policy in different languages if you support multiple languages. Please make sure that you put Internal name “privacy-policy-app” exactly as shown here and same for all languages. If you want to see a sample of the privacy policy for the Mobile apps click here.

For this one you can uncheck “Show a link in footer” if you do not want to show this on your website. Once you add the privacy policy page your app will show this on the Profile page.

Click on the + icon and add another page. This one will be used for the website. Please tick mark the “Show a link in footer” check box, this will display your Privacy Policy link in the footer of your website.

Adding other pages like About us, FAQ

You can add more pages onto the app but this is not mandatory for app approval. The process of adding other pages is similar, create new page, add page title.  To show on the app the internal names should end with -app. So, for the About us page, the eternal name should be “about-us-app”. Please see the first picture and remember to enter text for all the languages you use.
